Though Datadog’s business focus is to help our customers understand the health and performance of their applications and infrastructure, we consider the privacy and security of customer data to be paramount. With many of our customers operating around the world in differing regulatory environments, we strive to not only ensure but also verify our dedication to maintaining the security of customer data.

We have always employed multi-layer measures to safeguard data, and have established and followed guidelines to verify that data is safely and securely stored. We continuously perform monitoring and security scanning on both our network and applications to ensure that our systems remain secure.

In keeping with our dedication to transparency in our security efforts, we are pleased to announce the availability of our Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type I report. A SOC 2 audit entails verification of an organization’s controls relating to security, availability, processing integrity, and confidentiality. To achieve compliance in each of these domains requires adherence with a set of standards enumerated in the Trust Services Principles and Criteria. We take these standards and the responsibilities they entail seriously, which is why we have partnered with Veris Group RA, a Coalfire affiliated Company, to provide ourselves and, most importantly, our customers with independent, third-party validation of our processes and controls to keep our systems and customer data safe.

Security is of the utmost importance to us at Datadog, and the successful completion of the SOC 2 Type I audit is but one of the many steps we are taking in our continuous effort to ensure a safe, secure environment for customer data. To that end, we are pursuing Type II reporting going forward. Look out for more security updates in the future, and as always, feel free to send any questions or concerns to either help@datadoghq.com or security@datadoghq.com.
