Dating back as early as 2020, local organizers around the world have created Datadog User Groups as places to bring their communities together to connect with fellow Datadog users, share knowledge, and collaborate. In Japan, Korea, and Germany, technical practitioners have hosted meetups featuring hands-on discussions, practical advice from real-world experience with Datadog, best practices for integration, and more.
Inspired by the success of these groups, we're launching the Datadog User Group Program to formalize our support and recognition of what they have achieved. Together with our community organizers, we’re committed to enhancing the experience for everyone who runs or attends a User Group meetup. We’ll collaborate on content and provide support, such as speaker coordination, swag, and food and beverage budgets. We’ll also look for feedback to find other ways to make these meetups even more fun and educational.
In addition, we’re excited to see other community leaders follow the example set by our launch partners and hope to enable the creation of additional Datadog User Groups. We’re especially interested in working with community organizers in Paris and New York City.

To kick off the program, we’re spotlighting some of the community leaders who have led the way by bringing Datadog users together all across the globe.
Datadog in Berlin
“The first meetup in Berlin, three months ago, was a big success. We had great speakers and engaging topics, which led to a lot of interaction. Some attendees even traveled over 400 to 500 kilometers to join us, which really amazed me. One of Datadog’s partners, Public Cloud Group, was very supportive from the start, sponsoring food, drinks, and the venue. They—along with Berlin being such an international city—were key reasons for starting the User Group initiative here, especially since the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) is so large.”

The Datadog Korea User Group
“The Datadog Korea User Group not only shares insights about Datadog itself but also covers a wide range of integrations that can be connected to Datadog, as well as best practices and case studies related to DevOps, observability, and security. The goal of the community is to help members use their Datadog spending more effectively and operate more robust services, while striving to encourage participation from a diverse range of engineers. Some attendees have reported that the meetups helped them adopt Datadog for the first time, while others who already use Datadog have learned how to use it more effectively.”

The Datadog Japan User Group
In Japan, one of our most active and fast-growing communities has been bringing together Datadog practitioners across the country through the Japan Datadog User Group, or JDDUG. What started in Tokyo has expanded to cities like Sapporo and Fukuoka, reflecting the strong demand for local, peer-driven learning and connection. Recent meetups have focused on strategies for running a successful Datadog trial, lessons learned from managing long-running applications, and how Datadog can support FinOps initiatives.
