We’re excited to announce a new integration with our friends at OpsGenie. OpsGenie’s SaaS solution delivers IT alerts to the right people through email, SMS, phone calls and push notifications enabling them to assess a situation and resolve it quickly. Connecting Datadog to OpsGenie means that you can start receiving email, phone, SMS, and push notifications for all important server, database and application events, as monitored by Datadog.

If you are an OpsGenie customer this integration is available to you today in Datadog. Sign up for a Datadog trial to get the most out of your OpsGenie data.

What can you do with the new OpsGenie integration?

  1. The integration lets you create and resolve alerts directly from the Datadog stream. OpsGenie then takes the appropriate notification action.

  2. The integration continuously imports OpsGenie alerts, escalations, and resolutions into the Datadog stream so that they can be used for discussion in Datadog during or after the incident.

  3. The integration lets you alert to an entire distribution list. Using the “acknowledge” and “close” tags (e.g., @opsgenie-acknowledge, @opsgenie-close) from the Datadog event stream, someone from your team can claim an issue and update the alert status for all to see in OpsGenie.

  4. With the OpsGenie and Datadog integration you’re able to customize notification recipients so Datadog will send the alert to only the team members who are on call or involved in an issue.

  5. The integration lets you correlate metrics and alerts very easily as in this example. Alerts triggered after peaks of high load on a Cassandra cluster are displayed on top of the actual load graph.
