Technical Enablement Session Hero Background

About This Session

Service Level Objectives (SLOs) provide a framework for setting clear reliability targets that align system performance with customer expectations. In this session, you’ll learn how to select meaningful Service Level Indicators (SLIs), build practical SLOs across multiple use cases, and apply error budgets to balance innovation with stability. With Datadog’s native SLO features, you’ll also explore how to track reliability over time, configure proactive alerts, and visualize progress on dashboards.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify meaningful SLIs that reflect user expectations across availability, latency, infrastructure health, and business processes.
  • Build Metric-based, Monitor-based, and Time Slice SLOs in Datadog, aligning reliability goals with real-world use cases.
  • Apply and manage error budgets to balance system stability with the pace of innovation, and guide team decision-making.
  • Visualize and alert on SLO performance by integrating SLOs into dashboards and configuring burn rate or error budget monitors for proactive reliability management.
