Azure Migrations with Datadog: Observability, Governance, and Cost Guardrails

Wednesday, March 18th, 2026 at 12:00pm EST - 1:00pm EST

Azure migrations are high-change projects: new landing zones, new services, a new cost model, and tight cutover windows. In this session, we’ll migrate a sample AI-based application to Azure using Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and show how to keep visibility and guardrails in place before, during, and after the move. CAF’s operational tracks (governance, security, and management) run in parallel with adoption, so we’ll treat them as “build-as-you-migrate” work, not a cleanup phase

You’ll learn how to establish a pre-migration performance baseline using metrics, logs, and traces; track service health, and coordinate response during high-risk change windows using Datadog.

We’ll also cover governance guardrails that scale across subscriptions: consistent tagging, real-time architectural visibility with live diagrams, and FinOps workflows that ingest Azure cost exports into Cloud Cost Management and drive proactive cost monitoring.

Join us to:

  • Learn how to migrate applications to Azure using Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework, while maintaining visibility and operational control with Datadog.
  • Learn how to set up governance and cost guardrails during Azure migrations, including tagging, architecture visibility, and proactive cost monitoring.
