We had an interesting time at [Velocity 2013 in New York City](http://velocityconf.com/velocityny2013/) last week: meeting cutting edge developers, architects and system administrators as well as speaking with the product teams of many of our [integration](http://www.datadoghq.com/integrations/) partners. Also, both our CTO, Alexis Lê-Quôc and Director of Technical Operations, Mike Fiedler delivered the presentations [Alerting: More signal, less Noise, less Pain](http://velocityconf.com/velocityny2013/public/schedule/detail/30062) and [Where do we go from here](http://cdn.oreillystatic.com/en/assets/1/event/99/Where%20Do%20We%20Go%20From%20Here_%20Presentation.pdf), respectively.

During the show, Alexis had a chance to sit down with O'Reilly Media's Scott Hendrickson for a quick interview. In the video embedded below, Alexis explains the history behind the name "Datadog", the user experience provided after <!-- Sign-up trigger (signing up for the service) omitted -->, and also offers a high-level glimpse into Datadog's future.

Enjoy the video, and special thanks to O'Reilly Media for putting on a great show:
